Illegal Off Road Use by Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (mpvs)
(Trail Bikes & 4x4s)

If when you are walking in the countryside in Northumberland and Tyne & Wear and you see illegal use by mpvs please ring the police on 03456 043 043 as soon as you can. The police would like as much of the following information as possible date, time, location (grid ref), direction of travel, number and type of mpvs, registration number if it can be spotted or lack of one. NB Please make sure that reports are only sent in for illegal off road use by mpvs. This means that activity on UnClassified Roads and By-ways Open to All Traffic must not be reported. If anyone is uncertain about the status of a route, they should check Northumberland County Council’s web site which has a copy of the definitive map on it. This is more up to date than the OS. Please do not confront bikers etc. Your help is needed in reporting illegal use.
